After a successful three-year pilot programme, NHS England is leading work to establish a long-term
NHS Jewish BRCA Testing service, which is anticipated to be in place from April 2026. In the
meantime, genetic testing will continue for people who have already registered for the programme.
If you registered for testing with the programme before the 31st of October, you should
receive an email to confirm receipt of your registration and to let you know when you should expect to receive your testing kit. When you receive your kit, please read
the information, complete your sample, and return it as instructed so that we can process
it for testing.
If you have not received your testing kit or wish to speak to someone about your test, please email
us at [email protected] or call the
telephone helpline on 020 3437 6001 (open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with extended hours
to 7:00pm on Wednesdays).
If you have a relative with a BRCA gene fault OR have Jewish ancestry and a personal
diagnosis (or family history) of breast, ovarian, or prostate cancer, you may be eligible for NHS
BRCA testing via alternative routes. Please speak to your GP or call our telephone helpline
(020 3437 6001) for advice if you think this applies to you.
NHS England is committed to continue to offer people with Jewish ancestry testing for BRCA. If you are interested in testing in the future, please enter your email below to submit an "expression of interest" in future testing, which we will use to update you once this service is open again for new registrations in 2026.
